A Introduction of the school

Yan Chai Hospital Ming Tak kindergarten in Tin Shui Wai is the second non-profit making kindergarten opened by the Yan Chai Hospital Board.  The school covers an area of 6,000 square feet. The school is located in a scenic area. The school has many facilities to promote learning. The school has six classrooms, a music room, Physical Education area, Resource corner, and for outdoor activities the school has access to a playground located in front of the school.

B School-based Admission Arrangements

  1. Distribution period: The school accepts admission applications throughout the year
    Monday to Friday(9:00 am to 5:00pm),Saturday (9:00am-12:00 noon). You can request the Form from the school or from the school’s homepage(No limit)
  2. Please fill in the form and submit in person to our school together with the following documents：
    • The original and a copy of the birth certificate (the original is for verification)
    • Immunization record and a copy of the original (the original is for verification)
    • A recent photo (a recent photo attached to the application form is required)
    • Three-addressed envelopes with stamps (ensure that sufficient postage is affixed and write the Address)
    • Application fee: $ 40.The application fee is non-returnable whether the application is successful or not.
  3. *Every child can only submit one application form.

Application for the “2026/27 Registration Certificate for Kindergarten Admission”

The Government has implemented the Kindergarten (KG) Education Scheme (hereafter referred to as “the
Scheme”) starting from the 2017/18 school year. 

Under the Scheme, parents are required to use a valid registration document for K1 registration in the 2026/27 school year. All KGs joining the Scheme (Scheme-KGs) can only admit children holding valid registration documents, i.e. “Registration Certificate for Kindergarten Admission” (hereafter referred to as “RC”) or “Kindergarten Admission Pass” (hereafter referred to as
“AP”).

In line with the Government’s policy objective of digitalisation of public services, EDB will introduce the electronic “Registration Certificate for Kindergarten Admission” (“e-RC”) in the second quarter of 2025. Each e-RC would contain an encrypted QR code. When parents are registering with the KGs, KG staff would only need to scan the QR code on the e-RC and the registration process
will be completed automatically. Hence, KGs would no longer need to collect and keep the RC of their students. Upon completion of the registration process, relevant personal information of the student will be uploaded onto EDB’s system automatically. EDB will issue a registration document to each child who can receive education in Hong Kong.Children eligible for receiving subsidy under the Scheme will be issued an e-RC. 

 If a child is not eligible for receiving subsidy under the Scheme1, an electronic AP (“e-AP”) will be issued for registration to a Scheme-KG but the parents concerned are required to pay full school fees (i.e. before deduction of subsidy under the Scheme) as shown on the Fees Certificate of the KG admitting the child.

K2 and K3 admission application

We will make appointments to arrange admissions and give notice of the vacancy situation.

Admission Criteria

  1. The family accepts to adhere to the school’s educational philosophy and teaching mode;
  2.  Admissions will also factor in if the applicant has siblings who have or are studying in the school.
  3.  Based on the interview performance;
  4.  Home is near the school;
  5.  For WD services, should give due priority to families in need (such as those with working parents) and those having  genuine need for WD services due to their special circumstances (such as those which need to take care of one or more    persons with a disability at home).

*As the number of school places is limited, please understand that not all applicants fulfilling the priority consideration will be guaranteed a school place.

Interview Arrangements

  1. The kindergarten will arrange interview for all applicants.
  2. Interviews will be conducted on 1st November,2025. The kindergarten will inform an interview date when you hand on the application form.
  3. Group interviews will be arranged.
  4. Parents should accompany their child for the interview.
  5. Please contact us at 2486 5080 if interpretation/translation service is required.
  6. The school will meet with the applicant in 1st November,2025, and notify the admission result through written notice before 12th December,2025. 

Remarks

  1. Parents and students must attend the interview on time, those who are late will forfeit their place.
  2. If you can not attend the interview, you need to notify the school three days prior to the interview by phone.

Centralise Registration Arrangements

  1. Successful applicants:Parents should complete the Centralise registration procedures for their child from 8 to 10 January,2026 by submitting the original of the “2026/27 RC”to the kindergarten and paying the registration fee.
  2. Applicants on the waiting list:The kindergarten will issue a notice.Parents should complete the registration procedures for their child according to the specified date set by the school. Parents are required to submit the original of the 2026/27 RC” to the kindergarten and pay the registration fee.
  3. Please be reminded that if parents cannot submit the” 2026/27 RC”during  Centralise registration, the kindergarten may not be able to complete registration for their child. Hence, parents are required to submit application for the Registration Certificate to EDB within the specified period.
  4. The registration fee for 2026/27 K1 half day class is $970, Whole day class is $1,570. However, if parents decide to transfer their children to another school after registration, please notify our school in writing. Our school will return the2026/27 RC, but the registration fee will not be refunded. After parents retrieve the registration certificate, this kindergarten will also no longer hold a place for the child.

C School Fee Information

  1. The school will be free of charge for half-day classes in 2024-2025 after deduction of subsidies, and full-time classes will be $650 after deduction of subsidies.

  2. The school fee in 2025-2026 will be announced after the issuance of the Education Bureau’s fee certificate.

D Arrangement for admission application of Non-Chinese Speaking(NCS)Children

  1. When interviewing NCS children, interpretation and/or translation service for applicants will be provided where  necessary, or parents and children are allowed to be accompanied by a Chinese speaking relative/friend to facilitate communication.
